Seal is proud to confirm he will be headlining the Night of the Proms shows in Belgium and Germany, this fall.  Seal participated in the Holland shows in 2005, and needed little time to accept the invitation to this unique event.  Featuring a full size symphonic orchestra, 24-piece choir and 8 piece band on stage, this is a truly unique musical experience.

The Belgian shows take place at the Antwerp Sportpalace, with a 15,000 capacity, while the German tour halts in 12 cities for not less than 19 shows.

In Antwerp, Seal will be sharing the stage with Mick Hucknall, the voice of Simply Red, and Angie Stone, the Il Novecento orchestra, conducted by Robert Groslot, the Fine Fleur choir, Proms-veteran John Miles and soprano quartet Div4s.  In Germany, Alison Moyet will also be part of the line-up. More artists for the German shows will be announced on September 13.

Night of the Proms has established itself as leading yearly musical event in Belgium, Holland and Germany since the start, 26 years ago.  The unique mix of classical and contemporary music has resulted in special performances by Andrea Bocelli, Sting, James Brown, Joe Cocker, Live, Sinead O’Connor, Donna Summer, Mike Oldfield, Toto, UB40, Zucchero, Tears For Fears, Status Quo, Chrissie Hynde, Simple Minds, and many, many others.

“Hit Man Returns” also features knock out performances from Michael Bolton, Earth, Wind & Fire, Donna Summer, Chaka Khan, Natalie Cole, Martina McBride, Charice and more!

“The Motown Sound: In Performance at the White House” is a PBS music special in the East Room of the White House.  President and Mrs. Obama will host the event on Thursday, February 24 in celebration of Black History Month and the legacy of Motown, the distinctive soul-infused pop music sound, style and presentation that was born in Detroit and embodied by the Motown Records label.

The talent line-up for the show is program host Jamie Foxx and performances by Foxx, Natasha Bedingfield, Sheryl Crow, the group Gloriana, Nick Jonas, Ledisi, John Legend, Amber Riley, Smokey Robinson, Mark Salling, Seal and Jordin Sparks.

The program will premiere Tuesday, March 1 at 8 p.m. ET on PBS stations nationwide.  (Check local listings)

It will also be broadcast on March 11 via the American Forces Network to American service men and women and civilians at U.S. Department of Defense locations around the world.

Due out September 28, 2010 on Reprise Records, Seal 6: Commitment could be his greatest work to date. With a career that’s lasted over two decades and more than 15million albums sold, the celebrated vocalist and GRAMMY Award-winner went into the studio and challenged himself to “write an album that exceeds my own expectations.” After working on 2008’s Soul with producer David Foster, Seal knew who to turn to, to bring his new project to life. “I asked David to produce Commitment because quite simply, he’s the most incredible person I’ve worked with in the studio in a long time,” Seal says. “He’s one of a kind. I don’t think there’s an arranger and producer on the planet that can do what he does.” Foster shares the same sentiment for Seal saying, “The album is full of beautiful musical surprises and his songwriting has never been better. He says it may be his best work yet and I think he may be right.”

In the Museum’s 200 seat Clive Davis Theater, two days before the release of Seal 6: Commitment, Seal and David Foster will sit down with Executive Director Robert Santelli to discuss how his focus on family, life, music and his career influenced his new album. They will also talk about what it was like to work together again in the studio before taking audience questions and performing a few songs.

The GRAMMY Museum launched its celebrated public program series “The Drop” in June 2009 with critically-acclaimed artists Nanci Griffith, Rhett Miller, Mandy Moore, and Marshall Crenshaw. A friend of mine who’s also an extremely talented photographer shot my show in Chicago.  These are some of the best concert images that anyone has ever taken of me.  This is what happens when you have a photographer who shoots for passion and not really because he’s being commissioned to do it as a job.  I want to say thank you again to Steve for making such  excellent  images and also for administering such an enjoyable  site.  Take a look, if you love photography but can’t stand over technical nonsense (which quite often has nothing to do with great photography) you’ll love his site.
