It’s been a long time since we last spoke. Please understand that it isn’t through choice. The new single ‘Amazing’ is now available on ‘iTunes’ as a download. There are two versions, the ‘Thin White Duke’ edit is my personal fav and the one that I will be performing to in the future given the choice. The album drops Nov 13th and is called ‘SYSTEM’. There are new and exciting updates coming to the site so please bare with me. I’m interested to hear your comment on the single so please feel free to fire away.

I am only 15 years of age. I first heard “Kiss from a Rose” when I was abuot 10.
I looked up your songs a couple of months ago. I am astonished at the songs you have.
Your music has saved my life.
Every time I hear the song. “Crazy”, I cry inside and out,the song is so amazing.
Most 15 years olds dont have the privlage of hearing your wonderful music.

Great tune! I would say that the rather repetetive catchy chorus line is best described as ‘very addictive’. Reminds me somehow a bit of ‘My Vision’. And the sound of Thin White Duke Edit is very Madonna/confessions… – which is a great thing – exactly what I hoped for….
Now that you are making a more dance oriented album: How about making an alternative version of the album having great electronic artist/producers making alternative smooth and laid back lounge/chill out versions of the songs??? Something like ‘Summer in White edit’ of ‘My Vision’. I would give both my right and left arm to see that happen….
And don’t forget playing in Denmark on your next Tour – PLEASE!

Seal, I’ve been a big fan since your first album came out in 91′.I wanted to say the new single is classic Seal at your best and I’m excited about the new cd.I had a couple tough questions that I can’t seem to find much luck with anywhere else. 1. Will it ever be possible to get to hear the tracks off Togetherland and 2. How can I get some of Jeymes Samuels music ? Good to read some news, and what an “amazing” one
I like both version, I feel it depends on my mood which I’ll prefer to hear more, for the mean time after listen to it almost 5 times each, my preference goes to the album one, but it seems to become a hit on the dancefloor with the mix.
Is it technicaly possible to put it as backgound music on your blog?? Could be cool as reading all what’s going on to hear some of your work that’s coming out! GLING! GLING!

I gotta say that I’m really impressed by all remixes of the track AND the coverage it’s getting. Seal’s stuff is always great but I love each end of the spectrum – dance mixes and acapella.
Here in the UK radio has been bereft of Seal music since, erm, 1995?
Both Human Being and Seal IV were completely overlooked by the media, most probably because Warner UK seems completely unwilling to promote both albums. Boo!
So I was really happy to read that Amazing got its UK début on Pete Tong’s Radio 1 show, was his record of the week the following week, and then got played on midday shows over that weekend.
I’m sure Seal is delighted with this too, as he clearly disappointed about the exposure SealIV was getting when I was lucky enough to meet him after one of the gigs during his last UK tour.
Like all your songs, they grow on me over time and thats the most wonderful part, but from my immediate reaction, I’m really feelin’ the album version. It just feels far more refined and has tthat really polished, full sounding feel I’d expect from any of your album tracks. I love the lyrics and it just bleeds with an infectious uplifting rhythm that so fitting of the title. My only strike is its a bit short, but thats great because it makes me want System all the more!!!
Well, after giving a listen to the two versions of Amazing, I concur with Seal in choosing the Thin White Duke edit. It just makes me that much more excited for his long awaited new album!
Oh, and seeing him in concert in Atlantic City this past summer was simply amazing! If you ever want to get your money’s worth for a concert, please, please see Seal live. I’ve never seen an artist so enthused to be performing; he puts his all into every song he performs. Thank you so much for what you do, Seal!
I would love to hear this track in a club!! I can definatly see the changes that you have been talking about in regards to the production. a dance approach is a good style for you probably the best style of production for your sound (just my view) as I am a dance music fan. It has that big sound that is typical of the European club scene. I like it a lot but I would love to hear you do something on the “Deep” house tip to see how that sounds. I think that would be “Amazing”.LoL

I heard the song last week in my local record shop (promo version of the single), excellent stuff! Nice to hear small change towards dance stuff (even though I’m more to “normal pop”), but you’ve still managed to keep your sound, so it’s easy to recognize it as one of Seal songs. Looking forward to the album!

Hy Seal, it’s really hard to be a seal-fan… you have to wait 4-5 Years to hear new material.
I remember as i’ve seen “crazy” the first time.
I said: what’s that, who is the guy, with the cool dreads, leather-clothes, and the red sofa in the video….. who makes me “GÄNSEHAUT”.
So, every single, every album i bought over the years. I visit all the concerts in Frankfurt and Mannheim. And i can really say: you give me the music for my life. you’re the one who touched my soul over years.
Now you’re back, and i ‘m happy to hear your new song “amazing” on youtube.
My first imprssion was: okay, good pop song, nice to have, but not better than “bring it on” ,”heavently”, “crazy”…etc. But after few more clicks on the youtube site my opinion changed. i think the song will became a real big hit in germany on every radiostation.
At least i would like to say that i hope the new “system” album is although great stuff like the albums yo’ve made before.

I haven`t heard the remix versions so far – so I will give a comment when I have bought the single -CD…..by the way – hope that we can find some b-tracks or acoustic versions on the singles – would be cooolllll!!!!

Seal, I am so glad I finally got an iPod. I know, I am way behind with that sort of technology.
Anyway, I downloaded iTunes and bought both of your songs and listened to them for hours on my iPod in my bed. I absolutely love the amazing lyrics…this is what I am looking forward too the most is how you surprise me with your positive meaning behind your songs. Your words and the meaning behind them make me feel at peace and at the same time, happy inside.
I love both versions of the songs. They both have a fabulous beat to it; which is captivating and stays in my head all day long. I love the way the remix is starting out with your voice saying the phrase “I want you to always feel that amazing” (if I hear it correctly). I am always amazed on how these remixes come together. Maybe you could share with us your involvement in the process???
I almost feel AMAZING should be the new theme song of the 21st century, because no matter what situation we had to deal with in the past, we all rise over the obstacles or at least try.
And we are all AMAZING!!!

Certainly a different sound compared to previous singles and albums.
As always the lyrics have a depth to them which is synonymous which your work. Great guitar sound comes in the Thin White Duke edit.
I could see this doing well in the UK (which is about time as personally i thinks it shocking how little publicity you seem to get over here). Looking forward to the album for sure. Good stuff

What can I say . . . . I downloaded i-tunes just to get this! Fantastic stuff, nice mix of Seal’s dance history with a modern sound. Better still, its my birthday in November, so looks like I will be dropping some hints to my fiancee as to what to get me!!!!!
The new single ‘Amazing’ is amazing. The song has an excellent drive, and the mix by the Thin White Duke is exceptional as well. It gives me great excitement and anticipation that the new album will be electrifying. As for the time being, ‘Amazing’ is definitely satisfying and sets the galvanic mood of the upcoming album.

I have to agree with you ..The Thin White Duke edit is fantastic! Amazing is very different and could not stop moving when listening to it. The album cut isnt horrible butthe Thin White Duke mix is fantastic! Looking forward to the rest of the cd!! Btw.. are you doing any radio or tv appearances to promote this?? Keep us tuned

I also want to add that one thing that makes you, Seal, so unique to me is that you music always has unique key signatures, such build/change in dynamics and such. ‘Amazing’ is nothing short of that as it has three measure phrases. I can’t think of any other popular artist out there that can make so many good 3/6 beat per measure songs out there and in particular, an awesome 7 beat per measure one!

Seal – Thanks for posting. I stumbled across the new single on iTunes on Tuesday, and was thrilled. Amazing is great – reminds me both of the dance aspects your first record, and of Excerpt From, from Human Being. Nice change in production style, too, although Trevor will always be missed.
Really looking forward to the album. As a fan since 1991, some of my favorite tracks are those hidden away on singles or elsewhere, so I’m hoping we get acoustic versions, b-sides, etc. over the coming months too (not to be greedy).

Welcome back big guy. Just returned from Paris/London, and I can tell you that they would love the Thin White Duke version there. Stuart’s style is poignant and ingestible, and the production of Amazing seems to be in harmony with your voice. Contrasting what I’ve heard so far, I believe Horn’s style is more layered and lost in time. Thanks for presenting us with a definite release date — I’m definitely looking forward to how the other songs turned out, especially “Swoosh” (hope you didn’t use the other looong name.. haha). I like the song (Album Version) but, I feel it’s a bit too short. Overall, it’s a cool track even though I don’t understand the lyrics too well.
Hello Seal: I enjoyed the Duke mix but the album version is very stripped down and just about cheesy sounding. To be honest I hear the new album system is suppose to be more dance based.
The funny thing as I have always enjoyed Seal’s ballads and mid tempo tracks so I can’t really say a dance type album is my cup of tea.
Your touch/Waiting for you/State of grace and so many other songs are just yes (Amazing) and I tell any fans out there please make sure you see Seal live at any town you have a chance to because he really puts out all he can for his fans.
Thank you Seal for making great music, I’m 38 and I feel like I have to dig and dig to find music these days that is well writened and performed.

Oh Seal, I love the Thin White Duke versions. The main mix if my fav and I love hearing you whistling in there:O) Stu rocks! I bought the remixes on itunes and ordered the CD on Amazon because I wanted the cool picture insert too. I hope radio stations will play the Thin White Duke Edit. I am very pleased with the Seal/Stu combo. I have also heard Bill Hamel’s remix and while I like it, I think Stu’s is the best so far. Bring on that Seal Love, Love, Love.
