Singer (post 106),
Sorry you missed San Diego. Tix were available for purchase Friday and Sat at the Expo.. not sure where you were coming from or if you were nearby. And Heidi’s birthday was the 1st so I am sure they were together on her special day. She may have been at the concert too as well.. not sure… as he made a remark about how wonderful it is to see families at the concert and its always nice when the family comes to see him after being on the road. Lots of children at the concert last night.. lap sitting children were free so it was wonderful to see them. One little girl rocked out to Shane Alexander near the stage with her cute little earphones on
…hey, peeps! Have ya scared Mr. Samuel away? Anyhoo, briefly browsed the notes here… Erm! I popped by initially ’cause 2 reasons: the San Diego show last night…? I would have loved to have gone but spontaneous me learned on Friday: no tickets sold at the door. Boo hoo. Then, was just at tmz.com, saw Ms. Klum celebrated the big 3-4 yesterday; pity the family was apart for a birthday. Hope all is well. Now. Back to these snarky comments (naughty me!)…
Come on, had to comment on #90 post–Mariech010. Anyone knows that all performers sing, “flirt” to the fans in the front rows, or viewing area! That’s what you call having stage presence and entertaining the TRUE fans and lovers of Seal. I too have been on the front row and have been smiled at, or whatever, by Seal and it made my day for my favorite artist to maybe have noticed me for a fleeing moment! On to the Seal Des’ree first show back when, yes, it was Paradise! Seal is beautiful and the coolest …. (and Heidi is nice too)… I love project runway!
Peace to all inthe Family! I’m so pleased to read how thrilled everyone has been with S, and their concert experiences. My first S show was with Des’ree as well…and there have been 4 others since the first show. I too felt like I had my one on one time with S during most performances….more so the last show in Vancouver in November. I went by myself, no husband, no child just S & I…we had a date eventhough he really didn’t know it. I was lucky enough to get row 3 centre and I’m sure there was more than one occasion where we exchanged looks…BIG DEAL! AS his on line family, we are so VERY grateful to have S in our lives, as closely as we do. We respect him as on artist, a husband and family man. All of you who have shows coming up ENJOY every minute, SPEND the money S is worth it. A dance, twirls…..JEALOUS.
Peace…
In response to writer #90..what you think and say is ABSURD and CRAZY. From what I see and hear about Seal, he is a womderful husband, a great father and a beautiful human being, and please DO NOT touch HEIDI. We love them both.
In response to writer #90…the person I pity the most besides your “husband” (and I don’t believe you can have one with such a nasty personality) is you. Anyone who judges others on account of their physical appearance is immature. Anyone who calls a creature of God ‘ugly’ will receive their due reward from God. How dare you come on this site and spout all that venom!
S!
Thank you for a memorable night last night in San Diego! It was amazing to see everyone dancing.. and even some of the winners of the marathon were dancing most of the night! I am in awe they had that strength and energy. But I felt it..the energy in the room.. fantastic! I went with my sister and we had a special night together. It was her first Seal concert and she loved it! So now we anxiously await your world tour and System. Thank you for a great night! xo
MARRIECH010, Seal connects and engages his fans like very few perfomers can do during concerts! He does have amazing stage presence and if he paid you a bit of attention, take it as a compliment!
Why did you find it necessary to make that very negative and mean comment? so not cool at all! please take the negativity somewhere else!
Whoa Mariech010!!!! What’s with all the insults??? Face of a serial killer??? Chilling…ugly??? What’s with all this crap?
What happened? Your husband got mad, cause Seal showed some attention to you and let you have it when you got home??? I mean…please with that!!!
If your man wasn’t confident with your marriage, in regards to another man looking at you. Then maybe he needs to check with Dr. Phil.
Artists flirt during their performances. Why do you think they reach out their hands and give hugs and such??? To show a kind of kinship with their fans.
Today was my dad’s birthday. He would have been 77. I was always a daddy’s girl so I just want to send him some love wherever his spirit is at the moment. I will always love you, daddy…that is what I whispered in his ear the day before he died.
Daddy always knew I loved music. When I was twelve he bought me a guitar, and in jr. high an electric organ. I remember putting music on the record player and singing in front of him and twirling around once. What great memories to always keep:O)
To Mariech10: If Seal was on stage then you have to realize that fans get excited and go up to the stage just to thank him, or even touch, or shake his hand. At Chastain Several people did this, and he was kind enough to reach out to them. That kind of thing happens at every gig. For him, it is part of the music, and thanking his fans. What you may have percieved as flirting was just in fact…stage presence. Nothing personal.
Seal’s music is beautiful and the way he delivers it wonderful on stage. His fans love him inside and out, and we love Heidi too!
I am glad that you have a good husband who enjoys Seal’s music too, and yes you are lucky to have a good man…just as Heidi is lucky to have a good man too;O) Dear…Seal loves Heidi on stage, and off!
If you look for something negative, and think something negative, then you will be someone negative…be positive!
To post #90..I really dont believe this happened at all..as Seal is a faithful man to his wife and family…funny I didnt see this type of behavior from Seal at the concert I went to and I was front row….the complete opposite at that..he talked to a few fans..no specific flirting as you perceieved.if anything it was a few fans throwing themselves at him!!!..so which concert did this happen at ??? As I’d like to hear if others at this concert seen this…if anything I suppose your post here was to incite his fans…no such luck …
okay..a very cool sighting of you that I obviously missed when the baby was born in Nov. I saw the spread of you and HK and the kids in a magazine and I can’t remember which one. I just wanted to know how the little guy is doing and to let you know that I saw something really funny on YOUTUBE.COM I typed in “laughing baby” and this little blonde baby with a blue bib appeared and Seal…you’ve gotta see it..I’ve never heard a baby laugh so hard. It’s an instant smile maker. Check it out and enjoy. I’m serious..it was too flippin’ funny.
Hi Seal! I saw you a couple of years ago when you came to Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA. It was a lovely show. I shrieked with joy when I recognized your voice at the end of “Pursuit of Happyness.” I wish you’d done a music video for “Let Me Roll.” I had the storyline written and everything I wish you all the best on your tour, I hope you would come to Los Angeles soon.
After more than a decade-long wait in perpetual fanhood, I FINALLY made it to your show in Miami. What a fantastic experience to WITNESS your talent, energy, and artistry! (My goal is to make my way to front row someday!) The experience of being in your presence was also a phenomenal personal benchmark. You see, you don’t know it, but your music has seen me through many of life’s struggles…from leaving a poverty-stricken & abusive marriage to acheiving a Master’s degree while raising two beautiful boys on my own…the sound of your voice was my most reliable touchstone. This altruistic Aquarian is now a hospice Social Worker whose personal theme song is “Newborn Friend”.
When a well-loved patient recently died violently and unexpectedly by suicide, my hospice Team and I felt broken and disheartened. While at a loss for how to begin the healing process, this faithful fan turned once again to her touchstone for resilience, insight, and hope. At our next meeting, I played “Prayer for the Dying”.The music floated throughout the room until it had touched each one of us. After drying my own tears, I raised my head to find not one dry eye in the room, including those persons who had been earnestly stoic. The tearful response and ensuing discussion on how “…life carries on…” was the catharsis we all needed to renew ourselves… to continue to care for our terminally-ill patients and their families who still need us everyday… to heal our emotional wounds… and to gain closure with our patient’s traumatic death. My Team STILL comments on the power of your song in our moment of intense grief.
Can’t thank you enough for all that you have done and continue to do. Never lose your idealism!!
Until the universe converges our paths once again…Laurie-Anne
Regarding Seal touring with Des’ree way back when, I loved the combination of those two. Such a similar message. It was such a special night for so many reasons: It was my first Seal EXPERIENCE, Des’ree opened, outdoor auditorium, San Diego, (what I call paradise) and the sun was setting…
Seal Lover
PS I am wickedly jealous of anyone who got to dance with SEAL.
To add to the Lisner Auditorium concert, Seal, fall of ’94, the opener was Des’ree (Feel So High). I will never forget the show….Seal sang just about every song from his 1st CD, Violet, Deep Water, Whirlpool, all of them! and most from the new CD that had just come out (Seal 2). Des’ree and Seal together, both british artists, I was literally on Cloud Nine! To make it even more unbelievable a friend traded seats with me and I sat like on the 3rd row alone in a trance for his entire performance (this was with the back up vocalists)… He had recently, i think, shaved his hair from the dreads!!! Love you Seal!!!
To answer no. 75, Johnny, yes, when I first saw Seal perform live at GW in Wash, DC he did in fact have live back up vocalists singing background only (not his band). I cant remember how many, but women and mean, maybe 3 or 4. I saw him that same summer at Wolf Trap in VA and cant remember, but i’m sure he still had them because it was the same tour = Bring it On Tour…(actually promoting that CD way before Kiss From a Rose became a huge hit – Seal’s 2nd album). He was out of this world!!! So your answer is yes to back up singers back in ’94-95.
With the new System album coming out, there will be another tour. Would you consider coming to Charlotte, or Greensboro, NC for a concert? There are some nice venues here:O) Looking forward to the new music, Janet
I have seen that you come to Freiburg. To the Zelt-Musik-Festival (ZMF). I would take part with pleasure in this concert. But there is a big Problem. I am jobless and cannot afford 50 euros for a map.
But that isn`t very important.
More than 10 years ago I had a good friend. Whenever I was with her we heard your “a kiss from a rose”. Again and again. The whole time. Long before it became a hit through the film Batman and you became a “Superstar”.
Then I had bad times. Drugs.
Today I do a lot of sports.
3 sentences helps me to come through the day:
YOUR BODY IS YOUR TEMPLE, TREAT IT THAT WAY!
ONLY A STRONG BODY KNOWS NO PAIN.
MY BODY IS A WEAPON (I think it`s from Bruce Lee)
If I hear today “a kiss from a rose” on the radio e get strong “gänsehaut” and i like to cry (sometimes).
But i think also that isn`t very important.
Important is:
The girl i liked was called Heidi.
My mummy is called Heidi.
And your wife is also called Heidi.
That`s very great.
And in one thing I am very sure. If you were able to, you would sing for free for everyone who wants to hear it.
Thank you so much for the dance at Chastain in Atlanta. During the final song of your encore, Get It Together, you twirled me three times from the front row. I’m so thankful for the chance to have celebrated the powerful healing nature of your music in person. I’ve been a SEAL diehard since your Crazy album was released (I was about 12), and your music has fed my soul for years now:) My wonderul husband suprised me with a trip from Michigan to Atlanta to see you perform live, and assuming grad school keeps paying the bills, we’ll be back in October! Can’t wait for the release of your next album… Thanks for all of the soul food over the years. It’s a gift that keeps giving;) Anyone who knows me well knows that your music is so deeply engrained in my soul, it would be hard to separate it from any other parts of my identity. Thanks for all you give, and your astounding musical /performative talent. Cheers! Kelly
Some of Seal’s band members have supplied BV’s on the road. The performance at The Brickyard in 1995 was Jamie Mahoberac on Bass and BV’s. On the 1999 Human Beings Tour, the BV’s were supplied by Mike Harvey and Paul Mabin. The One Night To Remember concert featured a backup Choir with orchestra, and recently, Gail Ann Dorsey sang BV’S on A Father’s Way on The Tonight Show. She also played a few gigs in 2006 on Bass.
As far as singers standing to the side and singing without instruments. I haven’t seen that live at a Seal concert yet, but I have been to only two concerts so far.
I saw Seal for the first time on the opening night of his tour in Long Island. I have a question for the fans who have seen him perform live multiple times – has Seal ever used backup singers to put on a show, or is it always just him singing? I was actually more impressed that he sang solo with absolutely no backup. Can anyone remember a show with backup singers?
I would think you may still get tix but you have to get them on June 1 or 2nd at the Expo.. maybe they have a number you can call to check.. Long Beach is only two hours away!!
Hey man. Saw you in Houston two nights ago. This is the second time I saw you perform and I hope to God that you know how you inspire people and how good you can make one feel.
My friend was so PISSED off when that guy messed up the ending of Kiss From A Rose. They said some really ugly things to him but I’m glad you took it the way you did.
Loved the way you performed Future Love Paradise and Human Being!
How can we have a concert with no ‘Deep Water’?????? That’s cool, I’ll be waiting on the Deep Water 18 track maxi single!!!!
Thanks for coming to Houston and providing us a few hours of EVERYONE sharing peace, love and happiness. I can’t imagine what it would be like if we could feel like this all the time.
I just got finished writing your wife a note on her page. I am just blown away by you people. Yor dedication as a married couple, as parents, and artists to your friends. I agree with whoever said you get a “family like” feel on your sites. Both the warmth from you and Heidi reach out to great lengths and we can all feel it.
Anyways, I just moved from the San Francisco, Bay Area to Long Beach. I didn’t see where you would be having a show around this area, but I would flip if you had one.
From the sounds of it, your shows are going really well, and people can’t get enough of you. Stay safe, and hugs to your beautiful wife and kids.
hey
I’m trying to find a song by seal that was played at some hockey games. The game i heard it in was a new york rangers game
THANKS FOR GETTING RID OF THE NEGATIVE COMMENT!! I FELT I HAD TO DEFEND YOU, SEAL..YOU DIDN’T DESERVE IT!!! RESPECTFULLY CINDY

Hello!!
I´m so sad because I just found out that Seal were in Texas last month, I have been waiting for him for so long, I live in Monterrey, Mexico, and my dream is to be in one of his concerts.
I love his music and the way that he sings.
I hope one day my dream becomes true.
Greetings from Mexico.

It is amazing to me that you would come to this blog..one that if full of peace and love and write all that hate and anger.
I would like to see this post removed as it totally offends ME, much less Seal.

In response to #90…I have a feeling that either it’s totally false or there was some kind of misunderstanding (culturally or just a freak accidnet).
I also don’t expect Seal to dignify that allegation with a response.
Heidi desperate? Have you seen her?

It’s a gift that keeps giving;) Anyone who knows me well knows that your music is so deeply engrained in my soul, it would be hard to separate it from any other parts of my identity. Thanks for all you give, and your astounding musical /performative talent. Cheers! Kelly

Hi Johnny,
Some of Seal’s band members have supplied BV’s on the road.
I totally enjoyed the Seal concert at Chastain!
Peace, Janet
Seal,
Please pass this on to Mrs S.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!

Johnny,
I have seen Seal in concert THREE times..and he has never had back-up singers.
Laura
I saw Seal for the first time on the opening night of his tour in Long Island. I have a question for the fans who have seen him perform live multiple times – has Seal ever used backup singers to put on a show, or is it always just him singing? I was actually more impressed that he sang solo with absolutely no backup. Can anyone remember a show with backup singers?
americabeauty415 come to San Diego this weekend. Rock and Roll Marathon.. http://www.rnrmarathon.com/home.html
I would think you may still get tix but you have to get them on June 1 or 2nd at the Expo.. maybe they have a number you can call to check.. Long Beach is only two hours away!!
Just a thought! haha I cant wait
Just saw the show last night. It was amazing. Thanks for coming to Texas. We look forward to seeing you when the new album is released!!
You know Seal,
I just got finished writing your wife a note on her page.
