The beautiful, majestic tress has to be approximately 150 years of age (judging from the knotted branches). We have one here in Jacksonville called “Treaty Oak” and botanists state it is approximately 300 years old. Its amazing how beautiful people, plants and animals get with age.

    Take care and God bless,

    Iris

Awesome picture. I love trees ‘cos they radiate such wonderful energies. When you connect and ask them help, with love and respect… They are great Healers.

Thanks for sharing this magnificent tree with us.

Hey my good friend. This is my first communication with you. I have been a fan since “the beginning”, 91. Your words and music have been a soundtrack of my life, if you will. I have seen you in multiple cities since 94. I recently move to SoCal. I know the tree, it it two blocks from my house. After seeing your picture, I decided to get out of the car and walk up to it. It has amazing energy and now I make a point to see it as often as possible. It is truly magnificent.

In this DVD world, I was wondering about your original acoustic session from the first record. It a truly incredible performances, specifically Deep Water and Violet. Until now VHS is the only way see these. Do you think we could one day have them on a DVD. Even a bonus feature would be great.

I am always eagerly awaiting the release of your new material. To be to speak to you personally is such a thrill. You have touched my life and have made a difference to this world. Thanks for all you are.

    Hello Seal!

  6. Janet says:

From the photo it looks as if there is a door or path in the tree. Very interesting don’t you think? As if the tree has grown the way to a journey;O)

I know this tree well, I visit it often and yes… I love in Los Angeles. This is a fig tree as someone already mentioned, it’s also known as a Bodhi Tree in India and was the exact type of tree THE BUDDHA sat under when he received enlightenment. This is a very sacred tree, and I was drawn to it by a series of coincidences. I read the book “Healing with the Fairies” by Doreen Virtue and in it the fairies say you can be lead to a “soul-mate” tree, by the fairies themselves by just asking them. So I did that as I held the book in my hoome and lo and behold, about one month later I was lead through a series of intuitive nudges to this tree. I couldn’t believe that the fairies found such an incredible tree for me in a city park!

I do not wish to give the location of it, but this is a very powerful tree and from I can tell, after having spent much time with it, that it’s somewhat of a “people magnet”. I’ve never seen so many people drawn to one tree before. I’m not sure of the background of the tree, but it must be at least 100 years old!

So….my soul-mazte tree given to me by the fairies wind’s up in a blog by Seal… who would have guessed. I hope Seal spends more time with it, this tree can reveal untold truths to you. I would even bet that holy men in India spend as much time as they can around tree’s like this one. Enlightentment is not for just those who meditate all day… it can be found, with the help of a sacred tree.

If you look carefully at the roots of this tree, you can see dark red stones embedded in it. It has huge volcanic rocks which the roots have grown around under the tree. This is truly a magical being. I would highly recommend getting the above mentioned book so you too can “receive” your soul-mate tree.

So I’m happy a friend told me about this photo of “my” fig tree on Seal’s website. I’m sure many can benefit from this amazing tree, reach out to the nature and nature will reveal it’s secrets to you~!!!

  12. Kristin says:

Hello, Seal! I hope your foot is healing well. I wonder by any chance did you break your cuboid bone? Running, maybe? My hubby (the Big Guy and former runner I told you about) was running on a rough trail and broke the cuboid bone in his left foot! And he had to wear an aircast too, like you.
Funny story: his broken foot is what made us connect. We started talking when he learned that I had broken my elbow (a radial head fracture from flying over the handlebars of my bike!) a week before he broke his foot. So 2 injured people started commiserating about their broken body parts and learned that they had much more in common. The rest, as they say, is history!
BTW, his foot healed up nicely and he doesn’t have any problems with it now.

Good luck, and welcome home Heidi and the kids!

  13. Janet says:

    Hi Seal,

Healing wishes are sent for your left foot.

    Peace, Janet

  16. Singer says:

I know that tree… It’s in Beverly Hills, is it? (I like to hug at least one tree per day.) And, leg break? OUCH!? :( …I actually stopped by because I heard Seal’s friend Regis is getting heart surgery; I send good thoughts… xoxo

  17. Claudia says:

    Hello Seal

I wish you all the best.

The tree is majestic. What a privilege to be able to see it daily. It reminds me of a poem I wrote a few years ago. Your music inspires me. God Bless.

  19. thebighappyhouse says:

Here’s a thought…you share with us things you see when you go to work..is there a place on your blog for US to share with you what we see when WE go to work..or take the kids to school? I for one know I would have a funny picture of this donkey that stands in the field on only three legs…it is a riot to see….
because he has FOUR legs. : )

You could post the ones you think are ok to have on your site…..you have total control…but maybe being able to share with you who WE are might be kind of fun.

    Just a thought…

    Keep on keepin’ on.

    Laura

What a wonderful tree. If I’M correct this is indeed a fig, but I’m not an intender :)
I’ve seen one similar to this in Sydney’s Royal Botanical Garden, so huge that I could make it fit only into 2 pictureswhich I attached together :)
Where I live trees are in blooms right now and they make you feel so fresh and new. Thank you for sharing this pic with us Seal. :) Have a great day and a belated Happy Birthday to you!

  21. Lovin the tree. Isn’t it amazing how (like a good piece of art work)something can take your breath away and you can spend hours in it’s company and never get tired of looking at it. Fantastic.

  22. Maggie says:

okay..okay..smoking is something I’m working on. Not just because of your kind words..but because I realize it’s not good for me. take solice in knowing I’m trying hard to quit. I turned 40 on Monday and my new mantra to myself is to take better care of me. So..first things first, loose the smokes. I’m on it.(crossing heart)

I wanted to share a joke one of my patients shared with me and I found it rather humorous. Hope you do too.

A man moved into an old house and was told by the real estate broker that the house was haunted and really never had any lasting tennents. He waved it all off and moved in anyway. The first night he heard a voice..”Sell your house…go to Vegas..” Struck him weird the first few nights he heard it. But it lasted for months and months. The voice would say to him..”Sell your house..go to Vegas.” So one day, he decides to..sell the house and go to Vegas. The voice called to him again on the plane..”Take all the money and go to Ceaser’s Palace..” He listened to the voice for a few days and decided to go to Ceaser’s Palace. Again the voice said to him..”Go to the Roulette table and put everything on red 24. So the man went to the table and put everything on red 24..The dealer spun the wheel..the ball went round and round and stopped on black 7..the voice suddenly said…”Crap.”

  25. Allyson says:

What a beautiful tree! And what a beautiful poem. Thanks for posting that. I adore trees. I have three ash trees in my backyard and also a fig tree. I get extremely upset when trees get cut down. It is painful. So thanks for sharing the tree. I love that line:” and never hurry through the world but walk slowly and bow often.” I need to remember that.
    Love,
    Allyson

Thank you for sharing it with us! I love that you do .. its like a peek into your day.

And yes , there are a lot of beautiful things in S. Cal. You just have to take the time to notice. Today, there were clouds nestled just below the mountains peaks.. snow capped their tops.. it was breathtaking.

  33. Cynthia says:

Wow! Obviously its very old!! Makes me wonder its history..who planted it.. I’m sure it has a story.Theres another nice poem .. I think that I shall never see. A thing as beautiful as a tree. Its lifts its leafy arms to pray… I forget the rest.. My dad used to say it to me.

  34. saraohio says:

Gorgeous tree! Reminds me of a Live Oak in Safety Harbor, FL that’s estimated to be between 300-500 years old.

Oh by the by…I turned 40 on Monday..thought it would be horrifying..like people running from the big scary thing in the sky..you know..back in the old black and white movies? Well..I guess being 40 isn’t so bad..it’s only bad when people say..”Oh..you don’t look bad for your age at all.”…..THATS….when I say…”NOBODY SAYS THAT TO 30 YEAR OLD WOMEN!” GRRRRRRRRRR…anyway..I was blessed to be around one more year so I’ll take that and run with it. Do you ever worry about aging and looking your age? Any idea about a clothing line? I know we touched briefly on this..I’m ready for my husband to look equally as hot..thank you very much..(BIG SMILE)

  37. Maggie says:

Don’t it make ya just wanna climb? Like when we were kids….

  38. Burt says:

that is probably the most amazing tree I have ever seen! Are you sure that is in S.California? I did not know there was anything that beautiful down there.

  39. Kristin says:

Wow, look at that majestic old tree. It looks like it could be one of those trees that come to life in the Lord of the Rings movie, The Twin Towers.I wonder what kind of tree it is (something unique to Cali?), and how old it is?
Beautiful, thanks for sharing. It is nice to see a green tree (remember, it’s winter in my world).

  40. emtp2031 says:

The instant I saw your beautiful tree, I thought of a beautiful poem by one of my favorite poets…

When I Am Among the Trees

When I am among the trees,
especially the willows and the honey locust,
equally the beech, the oaks, and the pines,
they give off such hints of gladness.
I would almost say that they save me, and daily.

I am so distant from the hope of myself,
in which I have goodness, and discernment,
and never hurry through the world
but walk slowly, and bow often.

Around me the trees stir in their leaves
    and call out, “Stay awhile.”
The light flows from their branches.

And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say,
    “and you too have come
into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled
    with light, and to shine.”

    Mary Oliver, Thirst, p4
