Seal, I’ve been a fan of your music for over 15 years now. Had the chance to see you for the first time live at the Nort Forth Theater in Westbury,Long Island. Excellent show.
Seal continue to share yourself with us, your fans. The world lack substance and your music tries to fill some of that void. Continue being true to your soul and in turn we as fans will continue to share in your “LIGHT”
Peace and LOVE.
I have to admit that I have seen a great improvement in your photography. I used to be a photographer myself and that picture of Bill in the studio is just plain out tight. Also that picture in S.America was clean as well. Don’t you just love Digital!
Reading your post made me remember how I got to love Seal’s songs. I was watching a movie called Clockers and when a character was getting arrested they were playing Newborn Friend. After the movie finished, I immediately rushed out to buy the soundtrack. Driving home, I was pissed off because that song wasn’t on there (although Bird Of Freedom was). I turned around, went back to the store. Now keep in mind, I didn’t know the name of the song…so I guessed and bought the first CD. Again, driving home I was pissed because I was jumping tracks looking for the song. Turned BACK around and bought the second CD. Finally got it, plus the two previous CDs I didn’t plan on getting.
The following weekend it was raining and I was confined to doing homework. I popped those CDs in the changer not thinking I’d pay much attention to it. The rest is history….became the biggest fan around.
Hi Seal, I was introduced to your music by my brother in the early 1990′s. One day he asked me to sit down and listen to a song he had on his CD. The sound was new, fresh and had an enigmatic element to it. The track was “CRAZY”. Even to this day, a decade and a half later, it has a timeless quality about it. Since then I have purchased most of your CD’s and like all of your fans have enjoyed the journey with you as you have worked hard over the years to produce many wonderful and inspiring songs.
The question I need to ask you is this. I live in Western Australia and there are people I know who are familiar with only a few of your songs i.e. CRAZY, KISS FROM A ROSE, and possibly A PRAYER FOR THE DYING, why then, has there been very little air play in Australia of your other masterpieces that have rocketed up the charts in Europe and the US? How does it work? Do you have to pay the radio stations or something to air your songs? Or is it simply a marketing strategy on your part? Or maybe we are just a fickle mob here in Australia.
I look forward to hearing your new album this year as I’m sure many other Australian fans are as well. If you do plan to come to Australia in the future, and if it is viable for you and your crew, please don’t forget Western Australia.
Seal, thanks for popping in to say Hello! Nice to see a sunny pic with no snow and ice! But thank God He sent us warmner weather here in Baltimore to start a melt down!
Bill & Kathy, what a lovely story! Congrats on your engagement and much happiness to you both.
Isn’t music a wonderful thing? It can bring people together, on so many levels. Seal IV has such meaningful songs, I understand why it resonated with you. Personally, “Touch” and “Love’s Divine” helped me through a rought spot in my marriage. Fortunately, those songs helped me realize I needed to hang on to it and made me remember what drew me to my husband all those years ago. So Seal IV helped us through a rough patch. Now I smile when I hear “Touch”.
Thanks for sharing your story here!
Seal – You are a huge part of my new life. Let me explain, my wife of 15 years woke up one day, Feb 2004, and decided she did not want to be married anymore. Well I was devastated thinking I was all she needed. I took refuge in your then recently released Seal IV and the songs gave me a place to grieve and a place to forgive myself for my part in the failure of the marriage. Let me roll was of particular significance along with don’t make me wait. I moved out and starting moving on, through the grace of God I found a kindred spirit and in kindling our new friendship your name came up and she said you were among her favorites. I got online and found you were going to be at the Bumbershoot festival in Seattle, I invited her. Two months later, we jumped on a plane from Michigan and were front and center in the arena. We are a mixed couple and we sang and danced with you, to a show that was amazing, we felt as though you were performing for us. Now, 2 1/2 years later as we plan our wedding we mark that trip as the start of our lives together. Now as I follow your career and read your blog I see you are working on some new material and one tune in particular caught my attention “WEDDING DAY”. I hope it will be released before the end of the summer, since we are looking at a fall wedding and it would be an surreal to dance to it, considering “our history” with you and your music.
Haven’t been to the site since last July, wow thanks so much for keeping in touch with the fans!
So glad you are coming out with a new ablum – Swoosh was great.
Your music is so heartfelt and makes me want to try harder – to push myself – don’t know why just that your music is so emotional and energizes me. So voice is so deep and soulful – reaches into the soul and makes you think – if that makes any sense.
Thanks for touching base with us! We always get a kick out of it. That is a lovely photo – what a beautiful blue sky! That is something we see very rarely in Cleveland in the winter
And that church steeple (I assume) in the background is so lovely. Ahhh, I miss Southern California. We haven’t been there in 5 yrs – I am actually a “California Girl” by birth, so I always enjoy going back.
How did I miss all those South America pics?!? I just found them today. What a cute little baby girl, those eyes! (see, that’s what I notice first!;-) And I love your leather jacket, but you have heard that before.
That pic of you on the side of the road looks so serene, a moment of peace in a busy day. I couldn’t help but think, though, how strange it might have been if someone driving by had recognized you. “Hey, honey, did you see that guy lying on the side of the road back there? He looked exactly like Seal, didn’t he?! Naaaaa, couldn’t be him…”
Enjoy your Southern Cali day, and have fun celebrating the Oscars tonight.
Hello Seal: Any plans for a tour in ’07? Did you do a show in seattle about 3 months ago? Any chance you will be headed to the Northeast?

Hey Seal how’s it going. I know it’s must be close to impossible for you to read all the things people ask you but I’m giving it a shot.
1. How surprised are you in the responses you’re getting ever since you started your blog? Much less did you think your fan base was this big or that technically inclined.
2. Please come to Houston or Austin again.
3. How scary is it to know that I’ve probably heard “Deep Water” more than you have?
Thanks man, take it easy. (Dude, that’s going to be so awesome that you’re thinking about streaming Togehterland. Honestly, I think some people are more anxious about that than the new stuff coming out)
